The travel and tourism competitiveness of Ukraine on the international tourism market

Abstract

The method of determining the index of competitiveness of travel and tourism (TTCI) was reviewed. The dynamics of the index of competitiveness of travel and tourism for Ukraine were investigated. The dynamics of components and subindices, which are used for the calculation of TTCI, namely the travel and tourism regulatory framework subindex, the travel and tourism business environment and infrastructure subindex and the travel and tourism human, cultural, and natural resources subindex were investigated. Indexes of promoting and hindering the development of the tourism industry in Ukraine were investigated. Determined, that the vast majority of components that inhibit the growth of competitiveness of the tourism sector in Ukraine are contained in the composition of the travel and tourism regulatory framework subindex. The growth of the industry are stimulate components of the travel and tourism human, cultural, and natural resources subindex and indicators related to infrastructure - air transport and land, as well as tourism. Competitive advantages of tourism industry in Ukraine in the global tourism market were identified.
